Years ago, when I took a drawing class in college, one of our assignments was to draw a self-portrait on gray paper, using charcoal and conte crayon. I liked the effect that the white crayon produced, so I drew this as an experiment to see if I could duplicate the effect in Photoshop.
I find that, when I can't think of a particular subject to draw, I default to drawing Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII a lot. I suspect it's because I cosplayed as her for years and therefore know her costume extremely well.
Clearly I need to study anatomy and perspective more. XD

Actually your proportion looks really good to me. If anything, her head can be a little bigger? I'm still learning. 8) What in the world is her other hand doing? I love the shading and how realistic she looks.
