Description

The second half of my OC project, Tai (Tai's sister, Tao, can be seen here [link] ). Unlike her sister, who excels at physical power, Tai prefers to use spiritual power, and specializes in using words as weapons... literally. Words can hurt a lot more than people realize. It can feel like darts piercing one's heart, or lash out like a whip.

Words can also be used to heal or protect, but Tai likes the negative effects a few carefully chosen words can produce, so she mainly uses those.

As with Tao, I tried to get out of my comfort zone with this pic as well, by drawing Tai from a different angle and with a different kind of pose. She was also quite stubborn about her appearance, more so than other characters I've drawn... I tried to be lazy and draw a simpler kind of shirt for her, but she wasn't having any of that. She also insisted on the glasses.

Right. She has one leg. 'Nuff said? No.

Again I see signs of SPS on the hand that's holding the book. Her fingers are nice and long and slender, but on a short palm they look like an octopus. Some knuckles would be nice too.

Her body seems segmented, like those little skeleton paper things you hang on the door. I don't know where her arm is coming from gracious me. There are no folds on her clothing to tell me what her arm is attached to, the fist is just sort of... there, and I find myself trying to find where it's attached. I think... is that a necklace on her neck? If it is, bring the back of the string up around her neck so I can tell it's not a sleeve ornament, that part of her is just cluttered. If she's holding that chain of words... make sure some of the words are flowing through both ends of her hands, since it took me this long to realize she wasn't punching >.>;. right.

Her face is a little dead. Perhaps try shaprening your pencil when you do the eyes or something because I can't really tell where she's looking. It's just a black and severe stare. And her lips could use some shading. You're great at shading. So shade her lips so they don't look like a sticker.

Oh yes, and

her pose will flow more if you can see how it looks on a real person. There are plenty of stock images out there, and it doesnt even have to be a female to get that pose. It doesnt even have to be a single pose..you can paste together a multitde of different pictures in your mind. You can get one of those wooden dummy things. (Life savers)

But keep practicing ;) you've got potential.
